Big Gigantic Is Back With A Brand New Single, “Get On Up’

Funk fans rejoice! Big Gigantic is back with a brand new single, their first original release since their album “The Night Is Young.” While they released their excellent “Faded” remix a few months back, it has been almost exactly a year since we’ve gotten an original track from the Colorado duo. This is not to discount the two mixes they’ve put out in between then. Their Diplo and Friends Mix featured an impressive collection of many of their hits while also including a legendary saxophone remake of Flux Pavilion’s “I Can’t Stop.” Their Winter Chill Mix went in a completely different direction, featuring hoards of music from different artists with a far more relaxed vibe.

While their mixes were certainly impressive, it is nice to finally get some new music out of Big Gigantic. Their newest single, “Get On Up,” begins almost exactly how a Big Gigantic fan would hope. A voiceover boldly requests to “Kick me one of them funky ass beats,” before an explosive and high energy funky ass beat ensues. Dominic Lalli’s world renowned sax is present throughout the single, driving and invigorating the track. In typical Big G fashion, a marijuana reference is even packaged into the track, with a voiceover professing his desire to “Get you high today.” Staying true to form, Big G also left the track as a free download, just as they’ve done throughout their career.
